Key Duties

Ruan Transportation Management Systems is seeking skilled Class A CDL Yard Spotters in Houston to support our dedicated customer operations. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently moving trailers within the yard and between bakery locations. Key responsibilities include:

• Spotting and moving 30–50 trailers per shift safely and efficiently.
• Coordinating trailer placement to optimize yard operations.
• Ensuring trailers are positioned for timely loading and unloading.
• Communicating effectively with yard personnel and dispatch to maintain smooth workflow.
• Performing routine safety checks on equipment and reporting any maintenance needs.
• Adhering to all company and DOT safety regulations while operating yard equipment.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 22 years.
• Class A CDL with at least 9 months of tractor-trailer experience within the past three years.
• Clean driving record: no more than three moving violations and one DOT recordable preventable accident in the past three years.
• Must comply with the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse requirements (create profile at fmcsa.dot.gov).
• Ability to work the assigned 2 p.m. – 10 p.m. shift and perform frequent trailer moves safely.
• Strong focus on safety, teamwork, and time management.
