Key Duties

The Varying Exceptionalities Teacher provides individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. This role is centered on fostering academic growth, personal development, and social skills in a safe and structured environment. The teacher will adapt instructional strategies to meet unique learning styles while ensuring compliance with state and district standards.

Core responsibilities include:

• Designing and implementing lessons that align with the prescribed curriculum and accommodate student learning differences.

• Using assessment tools to measure student progress, analyze results, and tailor instructional strategies for improvement.

• Maintaining an engaging, supportive, and well-managed classroom environment.

• Integrating technology into teaching practices to enhance learning outcomes.

• Communicating effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support academic and social growth.

• Collaborating with school administrators, peers, and specialists to ensure students receive appropriate interventions and support.

• Encouraging independence, problem-solving, and positive behavior.

Requirements

• Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.

  • Florida teaching certification in an appropriate subject area.

• Preferred:

  • Reading Certification (Grades K–12) or Reading Endorsement.

  • ESOL Certification or Endorsement (Grades K–12).

  • ASD Endorsement.

• Strong communication skills and ability to adapt instruction to multiple learning styles.

• Knowledge of child development, curriculum design, and classroom management.
