The Role & Responsibilities

As a Part-Time Tour Guide, your primary responsibility will be to lead engaging and informative tours that showcase the essence of Abu Dhabi. Your duties will include:

1. Leading Cultural Tours

  • Conducting guided tours that highlight the rich history, architecture, and traditions of Abu Dhabi.

  • Sharing insightful narratives that connect visitors with the cultural significance of various landmarks and neighborhoods.

2. Engaging with Diverse Audiences

  • Interacting with guests from various cultural backgrounds, ensuring an inclusive and welcoming environment.

  • Tailoring your approach to suit the interests and preferences of different groups, enhancing their overall experience.

3. Ensuring Guest Satisfaction

  • Providing exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries, and ensuring the comfort and safety of all participants.

  • Collecting feedback to continuously improve the quality of the tours offered.

4. Promoting The Knot’s Mission

  • Representing The Knot’s values and mission during interactions with guests.

  • Assisting in promoting upcoming events and experiences organized by The Knot.

Qualifications

Educational Background

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a degree in tourism, history, or a related field is advantageous.

Professional Experience

  • Previous experience in guiding tours or working in the hospitality industry is preferred but not mandatory.

  • Familiarity with Abu Dhabi’s landmarks, history, and cultural practices is highly desirable.

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and connect with diverse audiences.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Flexibility to work on weekends and public holidays as required.

Role Duties and Benefits

Core Duties

  • Leading scheduled tours across various locations in Abu Dhabi.

  • Providing guests with historical context, cultural insights, and engaging narratives.

  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants during the tour.

  • Assisting in the setup and preparation of tour materials and equipment.
