Key Duties

The Grade 1 Teacher is responsible for fostering a dynamic and engaging learning environment where young learners can build a strong academic and social foundation. The role focuses on supporting the intellectual, emotional, and personal development of first-grade students while aligning instruction with state and district standards.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Planning and delivering lessons that meet Florida academic standards.

• Encouraging critical thinking, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills in daily instruction.

• Utilizing a variety of teaching methods and technology to engage students.

• Creating a classroom environment that supports diverse learning needs and cultural backgrounds.

• Monitoring student progress through formal and informal assessments.

• Collaborating with colleagues, parents, and administrators to ensure student success.

• Maintaining accurate records and fulfilling reporting responsibilities.

• Upholding professional ethics and district policies while contributing to a safe, inclusive, and positive school community.

Requirements

• Minimum:

  • Current State of Florida teaching certification appropriate for elementary education.

  • Proficiency in technology and computer-based instruction tools.

• Preferred:

  • Additional skills or experience that support bilingual or multicultural instruction.
