Key Duties
Easter Seals South Florida is seeking a compassionate and skilled Teacher to provide individualized instruction for children with disabilities and typical peers aged birth to three years. The instructor will create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment, promoting developmental growth through hands-on, integrative learning experiences. Key responsibilities include:

Designing and implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans tailored to each child’s needs.

Conducting child development assessments and preparing progress reports.

Managing classroom behavior and fostering a positive learning environment.

Collaborating with families, therapists, and service coordinators to support each child’s educational goals.

Completing administrative and clerical tasks, including attendance, daily reports, and parent communication.

Ensuring a safe, clean, and organized classroom, following all DCF regulations and Easter Seals policies.

Participating in professional development activities and supporting school events.
-
Responding to student crises and assisting during emergency procedures, including drills and evacuations.
Requirements

Associate’s degree (required) or Bachelor’s degree (preferred).

Minimum of one year of experience working with young children, preferably in early intervention or special needs education.

DCF 45-hour childcare training completed or willingness to complete.

Current or obtain Child CPR & First Aid certification within 90 days.
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to motivate students, and maintain confidentiality.

Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, squat, and interact on the floor with children.

Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for children and staff.

Completion of background screening, Level 2 clearance, TB test, medical clearance, and drug testing.
