ESS Education is seeking motivated individuals to serve as Substitute Food Service Workers in Harrison School District No. 2. In this role, you will support daily meal preparation and service, ensuring students receive nutritious meals in a safe and hygienic environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing, serving, and merchandising meals following federal, state, and district guidelines.
- Assisting head cooks and school administration with food selection and service.
- Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas, including equipment and utensils.
- Monitoring and reporting equipment issues or accidents to the food service manager.
- Following proper food storage, handling, and disposal procedures.
- Occasionally operating cash registers and assisting with recordkeeping and supply orders.
- Providing positive interactions with students, staff, and peers while promoting a welcoming environment.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to interact effectively with staff and students.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices.
- Capability to operate kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, and mixers safely.
- Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in varying conditions.
- Completion of mandatory orientation, training, and district/state credentialing (background check and fingerprinting).
