At RBC, we build products on top of our cloud platforms to enable application teams to leverage platform capabilities and increase developer productivity. In this role, you will design and build scalable and resilient delivery and deployment systems on various cloud platforms that will enhance developer experience from onboarding to deployment to production.

What will you do?
• Design, develop, configure and maintain cloud-native application delivery solutions to address business requirements
• Evaluate and troubleshoot system operations, providing solutions to optimize complex systems
• Collaborate with a team of fellow engineers in building large scale solutions across public and private clouds
• Create technical and product documentation for your solutions and the platform
• Continuously learn new technical skills and practice by applying them in your day-to-day work
• Support high profile customers to migrate their applications to RBC’s Kubernetes platforms

Primary responsibilities:

Design and implement highly available, scalable, and resilient systems and components for a cloud native technology stack
• Develops detailed plans and accurate estimates for the design, build, implementation and stabilization of features and systems
• Manages all aspects of testing and verification ensuring all tasks are completed

Actively participates in defining, planning and executing team activities, such as providing recommendations for engineering and process improvements
• Recommends strategies to enhance developer experience, platform engineering and operations, and team planning activities
• Collaborates with teammates and peers to plan, build and maintain high quality technical solutions

Responsible for configuration, maintenance, release and troubleshooting Kubernetes workload delivery technology and tools.
• Manages CI/CD for platform components and continuous delivery system for applications
• Ensures cloud system applications meet high quality standards
• Manages day-to-day administration activities, including but not limited to performance tuning/scaling

Support and provide guidance to high profile application teams to migrate applications to the cloud in face-paced environment.
• Provides guidance on transforming into cloud native application using platform tools.

Must-have
• Experience developing software, with proficiency in high level programming languages, ideally Go
• Experience with RESTful APIs
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps best practices
• Effective communication skills and a learning attitude

Nice-to-have
• Experience with industry standard CI/CD tooling and cloud native technologies
• Experience creating and manipulating YAML files
• Experience working with Azure, AWS cloud and/or Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform
• Experience working in an Agile development environment
