Role & Responsibilities

As a Sports Assistant, you will support the delivery of PE lessons and sporting activities across the school day. You’ll assist teaching staff, run small-group exercises, help supervise lunchtime games, and contribute to after-school sports clubs where needed.

Key Duties

• Assist PE Lessons
  Support teachers during PE sessions, helping set up equipment, demonstrate exercises, and encourage children to participate fully.

• Lunchtime and Playground Activities
  Organise and oversee sports-based games or structured play during break and lunch, modelling fair play and good sportsmanship.

• After-School Clubs
  Help lead sports clubs such as football, netball, gymnastics, or multi-skills, ensuring pupils enjoy varied and inclusive activities.

• Encouraging Participation
  Motivate pupils of all abilities, including those less confident in sports, ensuring everyone feels safe, supported, and involved.

• Equipment & Safety
  Check and organise sports equipment, keep storage areas tidy, and follow health and safety procedures during sessions.

• Support Events
  Assist with sports days, inter-school competitions, or active themed events throughout the school year.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience with Children
  Experience working with primary-aged children in a school, club, or community sports context is preferred.

• Sports or Coaching Background
