As a Social Worker at Alaska Regional Hospital, you will provide patient-centered support across inpatient and outpatient settings, including the emergency department. Your role includes:
-
Conducting biopsychosocial assessments and delivering interventions for patients and families.
-
Performing crisis intervention, emotional support, and high-risk screening.
-
Coordinating post-acute care planning and discharge support, particularly for patients with behavioral health or resource needs.
-
Collaborating with physicians, nurses, case managers, and insurance providers to address patient barriers to care and recovery.
-
Assisting patients and families in decision-making processes while honoring preferences and values.
-
Responding to consults across various units including ICU, Trauma, Oncology, NICU, Transplant, and ED.
-
Maintaining compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and private payer regulations.
-
Supporting end-of-life care, death notifications, and other sensitive patient situations with compassion and professionalism.

Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW)
-
Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)
-
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification (to be obtained within 7 days of employment)

Strong assessment, counseling, and interpersonal skills
-
Experience in discharge planning, crisis intervention, and psychosocial support preferred

Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary care teams
