The Role & Responsibilities
The Senior Management Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the financial planning and analysis functions of the business, ensuring accurate management reporting, and supporting strategic business decisions. This position is central to maintaining financial health and operational efficiency.
Core Responsibilities
Financial Planning and Reporting

Prepare monthly management accounts, highlighting key financial performance indicators and providing insightful analysis.

Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and business planning.

Produce ad-hoc financial reports for management, enabling informed strategic decision-making.
Cost Control and Analysis

Monitor operational costs and identify areas for efficiency improvements.

Conduct variance analysis to compare actual performance against budgets and forecasts, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
Compliance and Governance

Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements, and internal control policies.

Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies to support audits and financial compliance reviews.
Leadership and Team Support

Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, providing training and development opportunities.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to interpret financial data and implement business strategies effectively.
Process Improvement

Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes, reporting accuracy, and system efficiencies.

Support the implementation of new financial systems and software to streamline accounting operations.
Qualifications & Experience

Education: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, or ACA are highly preferred.

Experience: Extensive experience in management accounting, ideally in a senior or supervisory role. Previous exposure to recruitment or service-based industries is advantageous.

Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, advanced Excel skills, and proficiency with accounting software.

Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and statutory reporting.

Soft Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
