The Alberta Public Service (APS) is taking a One Finance approach to the delivery of financial services. Role Responsibilities
The Ministry of Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction is looking for a Senior Contracts Specialist.
This position is responsible for reviewing all procurement and contracting activities which includes assessing whether these activities comply with established processes, guidelines and applicable trade agreements. The Senior Contract Specialist will also conduct review of contracts and prepare comprehensive reports to support decision-making.
Job Responsibilities
• Support the Ministry’s Contract Review Committee (CRC) and Executive Team procurement and contract review processes.
• Maintain, update and enhance the Ministry’s contracting policies and processes and monitor compliance to policies and processes.
• Accurate and timely preparation of contract reporting to support internal and external reporting requirements including quarterly and fiscal year end activities.
• Ad hoc reporting requests from various stakeholders.
• Review contracts and contract documentation submitted by Ministry program areas and provide guidance to support program objectives.
• Work with Subject Matter Experts (SME) and other stakeholders to provide expert advice on procurement, contracting and government’s enterprise resource planning system, 1GX, related issues and questions.
• Support overall contract management in the ministry and assist with the utilization of the Supply Chain Management (SCM) system.
• Champion the adoption, integration, and consistent usage of the government’s SCM system across the Ministry.

Qualifications
Required:
• University degree in a related field plus 4 years progressively responsible related experience. Equivalences maybe considered.
Assets:
• Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation is an asset.
• Experience working in SAP S4Hana and Ariba as well as technical tools such as Share point, Power BI, MS office and other AI tools.
