Key DutiesAs a Senior Clerk – Mailroom, you will be responsible for the efficient operation of mail and print services within Florida State Hospital. Core responsibilities include:

Collecting, sorting, and delivering mail to hospital departments and staff on a scheduled route using vehicles, carts, or on foot.

Managing postage sales, certified, registered, and insured mail, and accurately documenting daily postal transactions.

Maintaining records of mail activities and vehicle usage while ensuring preventive maintenance needs are addressed.

Assisting in the Print Shop during periods of low mailroom activity.

Communicating effectively with staff and residents regarding postal policies, procedures, and mail-related inquiries.

Supporting other operational tasks as assigned while following hospital and state guidelines.

Minimum of two years of clerical or secretarial experience; applicable education may substitute for work experience.

Knowledge of general office procedures, proper grammar, basic arithmetic, and record-keeping.

Ability to organize work, follow instructions, and ensure accuracy in documentation.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact professionally with colleagues and residents.

Competence in planning and coordinating tasks while adhering to established procedures and regulations.

Must comply with state background checks and employment screening requirements.

Hourly wage: $18.38, temporary assignment.
