The Role & Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing financial operations for clients and internal teams, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. This position combines technical accounting responsibilities with client relationship management.
Core Responsibilities
Financial Reporting

Prepare and review financial statements for clients, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.

Provide insight and analysis to support clients’ strategic decision-making processes.
Client Account Management

Take ownership of a portfolio of clients, acting as the primary point of contact for accounting matters.

Build strong relationships with clients, offering advice and guidance on financial and regulatory issues.
Compliance & Audit

Ensure all accounts meet statutory requirements, including corporation tax returns, VAT submissions, and audit preparation.

Liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies as necessary to ensure smooth compliance processes.
Mentoring & Team Support

Support and mentor junior accountants, providing guidance and oversight on accounting practices and client work.

Contribute to team training sessions and the development of best practice procedures.
Process Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, and workflows to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications & Experience

Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with relevant post-qualification experience.

Proven experience in preparing financial statements, tax returns, and managing client accounts.

Strong knowledge of accounting regulations, audit processes, and compliance requirements.

Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
