Job Details

• Position: Security Event Staff – SMU

• Location: Dallas, TX

• Position Type: Seasonal, Part-Time

• Hourly Rate: $14/hr (training & customer service); $16/hr (security roles)

• Schedule: Nights, weekends, and holidays during event season (August–March)

Key Duties

• Maintain safety and security at SMU Athletics events, including football, basketball, soccer, and volleyball games.

• Monitor entry points, crowd areas, and other critical zones to ensure compliance with venue policies.

• Check credentials, assist with crowd movement, and address guest concerns promptly and professionally.

• Conduct event support tasks that contribute to smooth operations and a secure environment.

• Occasionally work external events through Rhino’s extended Dallas-area network.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older and authorized to work in the U.S.

• Prior experience in event security, guest services, or crowd management preferred.

• Strong situational awareness with the ability to follow established protocols.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and professional demeanor.

• Ability to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• For security roles, current unarmed security license or willingness to obtain one.

• Successful completion of a criminal background check required.
