Key Duties

Harvest Midstream Company is seeking a Safety Specialist to oversee and enhance workplace safety across our operations in Alaska. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with occupational safety and health regulations while fostering a proactive safety culture. Core responsibilities include:

  • Leading safety programs in the field and maintaining visible engagement with personnel.

  • Conducting audits and inspections of facilities, processes, and contractor operations.

  • Coordinating and delivering EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) training, both instructor-led and computer-based, while identifying and addressing training gaps.

  • Managing incident reporting, investigations, and follow-ups for injuries, spills, near misses, and high-potential events.

  • Monitoring fleet and process safety, performing safety spot-checks, and supporting compliance with DOT, federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Acting as a point of contact for Management of Change, emergency response, and alcohol/substance testing programs.

  • Supporting the Environmental group with audits and inspections, and assisting with field environmental tasks as needed.

  • Maintaining strong field presence using current technology to carry out duties efficiently.


Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in operations, production, safety, health, and training, ideally in oil and gas or midstream operations.

  • Familiarity with process safety concepts and incident management preferred.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to interact across all organizational levels.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and strong data management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform duties in outdoor and industrial settings.

  • Must reside within the region of the assigned asset team and be available for occasional on-call duties and travel (25% or more).

Education & Certifications:

  • Associate/Technical degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Certifications such as CSHO, ASP, or CSP preferred.
