Role Summary: Has the potential to develop up to a Cost Estimator/Engineer position for large projects. Review of proposed “Star Rates” on description and validation. Providing all type of measurements or valuations of Direct costs in Cost Estimates at all phases in the ORP development process. Single focal point responsible for all Quantity Surveying issues at Interior. Final account orientation Education: Degree/Diploma in Technical Engineering discipline or QS. Preferably certified as Quantity Surveyor with the minimum assessment as “Chartered Surveyor” Experience: Minimum 10 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying in a major Construction environment. Key Responsibilities- Quantify mechanical components, materials, and labour for tenders and projects
- Prepare cost estimates, bills of materials, and take-offs for mechanical scopes
- Review vendor/subcontractor quotes and validate rates
- Monitor project costs against estimates, identify discrepancies and propose cost saving measures
- Liaise with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to ensure alignment of scope, quality, and budget
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 6-10 years’ experience in mechanical quantity surveying or cost estimation (preferably in oil & gas)
- Proficiency in estimation software and the ability to interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
