Key Duties

The Program Staff Overnight position is responsible for supporting the Emergency Housing program by maintaining a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for residents during overnight hours. Key responsibilities include:

• Monitoring and ensuring the safety and security of the shelter, including conducting bed and facility checks.

• Managing resident intake and discharge procedures, including handling personal items and completing documentation in the CMS.

• Performing regular administrative and operational tasks, such as organizing hygiene supplies, creating hygiene kits, and operating the phone system.

• Administering random drug screenings and ensuring residents adhere to shelter guidelines.

• Collaborating with team members to complete assigned duties efficiently while maintaining a positive, respectful, and professional approach.

• Engaging with residents to offer spiritual support, including sharing the Gospel and praying when appropriate.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred.

• Experience in social services, addiction, or mental health support is advantageous.

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Ability to maintain professional boundaries while demonstrating compassion and conflict resolution skills.

• Familiarity with handling confidential information and understanding of HIPAA requirements.

• Flexibility to work overnight shifts, weekends, and a rotating schedule.
