WSP Middle East is currently seeking a skilled and dynamic principal engineer to join our roads and highways design team in our Dubai/Sharjah office in the UAE. This role requires exceptional technical expertise, project management capabilities, and leadership in coordinating multi-disciplinary design efforts.

Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the design of roads and highways projects from concept to detailed design stages, ensuring adherence to international and local design standards.
• Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and team members to establish project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
• Provide technical guidance and oversight to design teams, ensuring high-quality deliverables and innovative solutions.
• Review and approve technical documentation, including drawings, reports, and specifications.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and departments to achieve seamless integration of project components.
• Support business development activities by contributing to proposal writing, project costing, and client presentations.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
• Stay updated with the latest trends, standards, and technologies in road and highway design.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• Professional engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification is preferred.
• 12+ years of experience in roads and highways design, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Proven experience working on design projects within the Middle East, ideally in the UAE.
• Proficiency in relevant engineering design software such as Civil 3D, InRoads, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of local UAE regulations, standards, and practices related to road and highway projects.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients and team members.
