ROLE: Personal Support Worker | Long Term Care| Casual Summer Agency Contract | Greater Toronto Area

Wage- $25/HR

We are seeking dedicated Personal Support Workers to join our team in long-term care facilities across the GTA this summer!

Provide compassionate resident care, administer medications, monitor health conditions, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the highest quality of care.

This is a great opportunity for PSW’s looking to gain experience in geriatric care while enjoying flexible scheduling and competitive compensation!

HERO CARE has a proven track record in providing our contract/travel nurses with a variety of exciting, positive and unique working experiences. Our team is now expanding our staffing services to provide contracts to Personal Support Workers across Canada!

QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY:
• 1 YEAR MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED AS A Personal Support Worker
• Must be ability to operate under pressured under a moments notice
• Vulnerable Sector Screen renewed within the year
• Professional Liability Insurance OPSWA

SKILLS & ABILITY:
• Overall competency in working under pressure
• Experience in providing general care and support
• Knowledge of home care services
• Proficient in communication

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Following the care plan, observing and reporting any substantial findings and/or changes in patient/resident/client’s behaviour to the appropriate registered member of the healthcare team.
• Working under the supervision of a Registered Healthcare Professional such as a Registered Nurse (RN) or a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)
• Perform tasks delegated to them (only if they are trained to perform the delegated task)
• Assisting with ambulation, positioning, and transferring using mechanical lifts such as a Hoyer lift.
• Assisting or providing total personal care such as toileting, bathing, and perineal care.
• Assisting with eating, dressing, and grooming.
