Key Duties

As a Patient Care Associate (PCA) at Mount Sinai Brooklyn, you will be a vital member of the care team, working closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals to deliver compassionate, patient-centered support. This position involves direct patient care, assistance with daily living activities, and support for clinical procedures, ensuring a safe and healing environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting patients with personal care, mobility, and daily living needs.
• Collecting specimens, performing EKGs, finger sticks, and other assigned procedures.
• Monitoring and recording vital signs and health-related data.
• Supporting nurses in implementing care plans and interdisciplinary treatment plans.
• Orienting patients to their rooms, unit policies, and ensuring comfort and safety.
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Collaborating with the healthcare team to provide high-quality, coordinated care.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years of experience as a PCA, CNA, Medical Assistant, or similar preferred.
• Skills in phlebotomy, EKG, and point-of-care testing desirable.
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and respectful demeanor.
• Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work effectively in a team setting.
