As a Patient Care Associate (PCA) at Mount Sinai Brooklyn, you will be a vital member of the care team, working closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals to deliver compassionate, patient-centered support. This position involves direct patient care, assistance with daily living activities, and support for clinical procedures, ensuring a safe and healing environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting patients with personal care, mobility, and daily living needs.
- Collecting specimens, performing EKGs, finger sticks, and other assigned procedures.
- Monitoring and recording vital signs and health-related data.
- Supporting nurses in implementing care plans and interdisciplinary treatment plans.
- Orienting patients to their rooms, unit policies, and ensuring comfort and safety.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Collaborating with the healthcare team to provide high-quality, coordinated care.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 1–2 years of experience as a PCA, CNA, Medical Assistant, or similar preferred.
- Skills in phlebotomy, EKG, and point-of-care testing desirable.
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and respectful demeanor.
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work effectively in a team setting.
- Hourly Pay: $28.48 – $30.29 (commensurate with qualifications).
