Job description

Title: Documentation, Assistant Manager
Location: Montreal
Industry: Shipping Line

Ocean-going ship owning and chartering company in Canada engaged in ocean transportation of mainly bulk cargoes on a worldwide basis. The company has several international offices on four continents.

Currently seeking an Assistant Manager for Maritime Shipment Documents for the Vessel team in Montreal. If you have experience working for a Shipping Line, apply now!

Responsibilities
– Prepare ship documentation; manifests, Bills of lading and other pertinent documents keeping the information up-to-date and ensuring proper compliance with regulations.
– Co-ordinate with the charterers and agents to ensure all the documents are prepared well in time for smooth port call turn-around
– Act in accordance with all relevant regulations and maritime laws.
– Process and document the information in our maritime documentation system.
– Assist with other documentation tasks as required and/or assist marine agency team.
– Assist other Boarding Agents with communication with the vessels to collect the information required by the different stakeholders.
– Participate in the monitoring regulatory compliance (ballast, cargo residues, Pre-arrival notifications).
– Communicate with various government authorities.
– Assist other Boarding Agents with the preparation of ship’s, customs and other pertinent documents.
– Assist other Boarding Agents attending to vessel arrival/departure (after hours while on duty).

Qualifications
– A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
– Knowledge of maritime shipping and pertinent documentations is an asset.
– Experience in a fast-paced, corporate work environment.
– Highest standard attention to detail.
– Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
– Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
– Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable transportation.
