Key Duties

Barton Associates is seeking a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens assignment in Kodiak, Alaska. The role focuses on providing high-quality, clinic-based care while adapting to variable patient volumes, particularly during peak seasonal periods. Core responsibilities include:

• Evaluating, diagnosing, and managing patients in a family practice setting.

• Delivering independent patient care and functioning as the primary provider when needed.

• Participating in on-call coverage for evenings and weekends.

• Collaborating with healthcare staff while ensuring documentation and compliance with clinic policies.

• Adapting to the fast-paced environment and maintaining continuity of care for patients.

Requirements

• Current Alaska state RN license or eligibility for licensure.

• Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Certification required.

• BLS certification and DEA registration.

• Experience as a sole provider or demonstrated ability to work independently preferred.

• Familiarity with Cerner EMR system.

• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and adaptability to variable patient volumes.

• Willingness to complete a 3-day orientation for providers new to the client.
