Key Duties

As a Nuclear Med Tech, you will serve as a direct patient caregiver performing diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures. Responsibilities include:

• Preparing and administering radiopharmaceutical doses for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes, including PET and SPECT imaging.

• Conducting nuclear medicine procedures, processing and enhancing images, and preparing them for physician interpretation.

• Performing quality control on nuclear medicine instrumentation and maintaining compliance with Florida Department of Health regulations.

• Monitoring patient conditions and ensuring procedures are performed safely and effectively.

• Administering venipuncture and evaluating IV access for radiopharmaceutical or medication administration.

• Participating in radiation safety programs and ensuring adherence to ALARA principles.

• Providing patient and family education regarding procedures, safety measures, and study outcomes.

• Collaborating with the clinical team to maintain departmental efficiency, compliance with procedural guidelines, and regulatory standards.

• Assisting in process improvement initiatives and maintaining accurate records of radiopharmaceutical handling and patient care.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program.

• Certification as a CNMT (NMTCB) or ARRT(N).

• Current Florida State License as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.

• Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.

• Knowledge of nuclear medicine equipment, procedures, and radiation safety standards.

• Professional judgment, attention to detail, and strong patient care skills.
