Scope of Position:
The Manager, Talent is a strategic leadership role responsible for building and executing key talent strategies and programs that drive organizational growth and Team Member success. This position leads the development and delivery of transformational initiatives in performance management, succession planning, leadership development, and engagement.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Team & Culture, the Manager works cross-functionally with leaders and HR Business Partners to build a strong and future-ready workforce. They also oversee the volunteer program, ensuring alignment with WinSport’s mission and culture. The role leads a small team focused on the full employee and volunteer lifecycle—from attraction and onboarding to learning and engagement. ______________________________________________________
Responsibilities

1. Talent Strategy & Organizational Capability

Lead the design and execution of integrated talent strategies that align with WinSport’s culture, business priorities, and long-term workforce needs.
Develop and implement programs that support succession planning, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness.
Use talent data, feedback, and metrics to evaluate the impact of programs and inform continuous improvement.

2. Talent Acquisition & Volunteer Engagement

Develop and implement strategic, inclusive recruitment plans for employees and volunteers in collaboration with hiring managers and department leaders.
Manage the full recruitment lifecycle—from job posting and selection to onboarding—ensuring a transparent, values-driven candidate experience.
Lead the design and delivery of volunteer engagement strategies, including recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, recognition, and retention.
Build strong relationships with external partners and networks to enhance employer and volunteer brand visibility.
Ensure all practices align with WinSport’s Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) commitments.

3. Learning, Development & Performance

Oversee the development and execution of learning and development programs that build capability across employees and volunteers, including onboarding, role-specific training, and ongoing development.
Partner with HR Business Partners and department leaders to conduct learning needs assessments and deliver responsive, high-impact training solutions.
Lead the implementation of WinSport’s performance management framework to foster a culture of growth, feedback, and accountability.
Design and implement scalable leadership development programs that strengthen the internal pipeline and prepare leaders at all levels.
Establish and support recognition and engagement initiatives that reinforce organizational values and motivate performance.

4. Team Leadership & Collaboration

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of 2–3 professionals responsible for recruitment, development, and volunteer engagement.
Collaborate closely with T&C colleagues and departmental leaders to align talent initiatives with operational and strategic priorities.
Manage budgets, timelines, and project plans for all talent-related initiatives and programs.
Promote a collaborative, innovative, and results-oriented work environment.
