Job description

Overview

The Logistics Manager works in close coordination with the other Department Managers while remaining under the Aviation Maintenance Operations Manager to provide comprehensive logistics support for achieving operational requirements readiness at all times. Direct and plan the logistics functions such as, purchasing, warehouse, forecasting, and management of retail and wholesale activities which includes environmental compliance and inventory management. Ensure proper planning and analyzing of current and projected materiel requirements, establish authorization allowances, and establish and maintain stock levels. Ensures accountability is maintained for supplies, equipment, and War Reserve Materials (WRM). Directs contingency operations such as logistics planning for deployment as per customer requirements. Manages cargo distribution functions such as receiving, storing, tracking and shipping of supplies and equipment. Establishes warehouse storage procedures; locations, location survey functions, inventory adjustments and proper care of supply in warehouse. Logistics management involves planning, coordinating, and evaluating the logístical actions required to support a specified mission, system or program.
