Job Details

  • Job Title: Librarian, Research & Instruction

  • Location: Sanford/Lake Mary Campus or Oviedo Campus

  • Employment Type: Part-time

  • Schedule:

    • Sanford/Lake Mary: Sundays (1 PM – 6 PM), plus Monday and Tuesday evenings

    • Oviedo: Monday through Thursday evenings

  • Pay: $28.13 per hour


Key Duties

This position supports students, faculty, and staff by providing reference services, instructional support, and access to library resources in both online and in-person environments. Core responsibilities include:

  • Assisting patrons with locating, interpreting, and using print and electronic resources.

  • Delivering instruction sessions using a variety of teaching methods and technologies.

  • Supporting daily library operations, including circulation and basic technology assistance.

  • Collaborating with faculty to integrate library resources into coursework.

  • Reviewing and maintaining assigned collection areas.

  • Contributing to the development of instructional resources for classroom and online learning.

  • Maintaining accurate records, reports, and statistics.


Requirements

  • Education: Master’s degree in Library/Information Science (from a regionally or nationally accredited institution).

  • Preferred Experience:

    • Academic library reference and instruction experience.

    • Familiarity with online library systems, electronic databases, and research tools.

  • Skills & Abilities:

    • Strong knowledge of current library technology and electronic resources.

    • Ability to work collaboratively and adapt in a fast-changing environment.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and ability to learn new applications.

    • Attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work independently.
