Our client in the public sector is seeking a contract based IT GRC Specialist to support the delivery of IT Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) activities. The role will support the implementation and maintenance of governance processes, frameworks, and tools.
Location: Toronto
Duration: 12 months
Responsibilities
• Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of governance structures, policies, standards, and guidelines within IT, aligned with enterprise frameworks.
• Perform and provide guidance on risk identification, documentation, assessment, and mitigation activities across multiple IT domains.
• Monitor risk indicators, escalating issues that may impact the organization’s risk profile or compliance obligations.
• Facilitate collaboration between control owners and the internal controls team throughout the control lifecycle.
• Support IT audits by coordinating with auditors and IT teams; contribute to remediation planning and tracking.
• Develop and maintain compliance dashboards, scorecards, and reporting mechanisms for stakeholders.
• Support and lead IT GRC initiatives such as the development of governance frameworks, compliance programs, and risk-management practices.
• Contribute to training and awareness programs to strengthen GRC awareness within IT.
• Conduct readiness and maturity assessments to evaluate the impact of organizational change.
