The Investigator will serve as a neutral fact-finder within the Office of Rights, Compliance, and Accountability (ORCA) at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. This role is central to fostering a safe and respectful campus community.
Key responsibilities include:

Conducting impartial investigations into reports of discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, retaliation, and employee conduct concerns.

Applying a trauma-informed approach to interviews and evidence gathering.

Maintaining thorough, accurate, and confidential case records.
-
Collaborating with students, faculty, staff, Human Resources, Residence Life, and other university offices as needed.

Interpreting and applying legal, ethical, and policy standards in a fair and consistent manner.

Preparing clear, well-documented reports to support decision-making and accountability.

Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Juris Doctor (J.D.) preferred.

Experience: At least two years of investigative experience. Prior work involving interviews and fact-finding strongly desired.

Strong analytical and critical thinking ability.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple sensitive cases simultaneously.

Cultural awareness and the ability to approach cases with sensitivity.

Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.

Strong conflict resolution, interviewing, and problem-solving skills.

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without restriction (visa sponsorship not available).
