Key Responsibility Areas• Responsible and accountable for driving heavy truck to transport and deliver cargo• Responsible and accountable for maintaining radio or telephone contact with base or supervisor to receive instructions or be dispatched to new location.• Responsible and accountable for witnessing the loading and unloading of cargo in his truck and ensuring that they are in good condition• Responsible and accountable for ensuring that the number of pallets tally with customer shipping documents.• Responsible and accountable for positioning blocks and tying ropes around items to secure cargo for transport.• Responsible and accountable for ensuring that only accurate PODs are signed by the customer and the driver.• Responsible and accountable for keeping vehicle clean, checking the condition of vehicles tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure that everything is in working order.
