Job descriptionJob Title: Graduate Trainee Accountant
Salary: £24,000 – £28,000
Study Support: ACCA or CIMA
Location: Liverpool (Hybrid – 3 days in office, 2 remote)

Key Responsibilities
• Support month-end processes including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Perform daily bank reconciliations and assist in cash flow management
• Process purchase invoices, staff expenses, and run payments
• Contribute to monthly management accounts and internal reporting
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting alongside experienced team members
• Maintain the fixed asset register and calculate depreciation
• Prepare audit files and liaise with external auditors
• Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS, and internal controls
• Participate in finance transformation projects, including process automation and system improvements
What We’re Looking For
• A 2024 graduate with a 2:1 or above in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or another numerate subject
• Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, lookups)
• Eagerness to learn accounting software such as Sage, Xero, or similar platforms
• High attention to detail and excellent time-management skills
• Clear communicator with strong written and verbal abilities
• Proactive, with a willingness to take ownership of tasks
• Committed to pursuing ACCA or CIMA qualifications (full support provided)
