The Role & Responsibilities

The Graduate Trainee Accountant will work closely with senior finance staff to support accounting operations and financial reporting. This role is designed to provide comprehensive exposure to a wide range of accounting functions, helping trainees develop practical skills and industry knowledge.

Core Responsibilities

Financial Record Management

  • Assist in maintaining accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.

  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare basic financial reports and assist in the analysis of financial data to support decision-making.

  • Help identify trends, variances, and potential improvements in financial performance.

Compliance & Audit Support

  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.

  • Assist with internal and external audits, preparing supporting documentation and addressing queries from auditors.

Professional Development

  • Engage in structured training programs to gain knowledge in key accounting principles and practices.

  • Work towards professional qualifications such as ACCA, ACA, or CIMA, with guidance and support from senior staff.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Recent graduate in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

  • Professional Aspirations: Interest in pursuing a recognized accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA).

  • Technical Skills: Basic understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and Excel or other accounting software.

  • Analytical Ability: Strong numerical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors, both verbally and in writing.
