The Role & Responsibilities

As a General Practitioner (GP) at IHHC, you will be entrusted with delivering high-quality medical care to patients in both clinical and home-care environments. This is not just a role of diagnosing and prescribing—it is about building trust with patients, empowering them to take charge of their health, and ensuring continuity of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting Medical Consultations: Examine patients, take detailed histories, and provide accurate diagnoses for a wide range of conditions, ensuring that patients receive timely and appropriate treatment.

  • Prescribing and Monitoring Treatment Plans: Develop care plans tailored to individual patient needs, monitor progress, and adjust treatments as required.

  • Preventive Health Guidance: Educate patients and families on lifestyle changes, preventive measures, and long-term health maintenance strategies.

  • Home-Care Support: When required, provide medical care in patients’ homes, collaborating with nursing staff and care coordinators to ensure a seamless healthcare experience.

  • Emergency Care: Respond effectively to urgent medical situations, stabilizing patients and coordinating referrals to specialized facilities when necessary.

  • Collaboration with Healthcare Teams: Work closely with other physicians, nurses, therapists, and administrative staff to maintain high-quality multidisciplinary care.

  • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain precise medical records, ensure compliance with UAE medical regulations, and uphold IHHC’s standards of excellence.

This role requires a physician who is adaptable, proactive, and capable of balancing patient care with administrative responsibilities in a dynamic healthcare environment.


Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate both technical expertise and a commitment to patient-centered healthcare.

Essential Requirements:

  • Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent): Must be recognized by the UAE licensing authorities.

  • MOH/DHA/HAAD License: A valid or transferable UAE medical license is required for practice as a General Practitioner.

  • Clinical Experience: At least 2–3 years of experience as a practicing GP, preferably in both outpatient and community care settings.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to explain complex medical information clearly and compassionately to patients and families.

  • Knowledge of Preventive and Family Medicine: A background in holistic patient management and preventive care practices is highly valued.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in home healthcare services or community-based healthcare delivery.

  • Multilingual skills, particularly in Arabic and English, to serve Abu Dhabi’s diverse population.

  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
