Key Duties

Amergis is seeking motivated General Education Teachers to support A-Rated Charter Schools in St. Petersburg for the upcoming school year. Teachers will implement instructional plans, manage classroom environments, and provide individualized support to students. Responsibilities include:

• Delivering daily lessons aligned with district curriculum and instructional plans.

• Maintaining a structured and positive classroom atmosphere that promotes learning and personal growth.

• Guiding students toward academic goals while fostering self-discipline and responsibility.

• Implementing various teaching techniques and using instructional media effectively.

• Collaborating with administrators, co-teachers, and support staff to ensure student success.

• Participating in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and professional development sessions as needed.

• Supervising students, paraprofessionals, and volunteers while maintaining safety and appropriate conduct.

• Communicating effectively with parents to support student progress and engagement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.

• Active Florida Department of Education teaching certification (all subject areas considered).

• At least one year of classroom teaching experience preferred.

• Ability to manage classroom responsibilities, read and implement instructional plans, and communicate effectively with students, parents, and administrators.

• Basic proficiency in mathematics and computer skills.

• Completion of required Amergis competency programs, CPR certification, and health screenings as applicable.

• Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements.
