Our client, WestJet, is seeking a detail-oriented Fuel Accountant (Intermediate) to support their dynamic Finance team. This contract opportunity is ideal for a driven professional with strong analytical abilities, a proactive mindset, and a commitment to excellence. The successful candidate will focus on day-to-day operational accounting with an emphasis on processing, fuel inventory, and month-end reporting.

Responsibilities
•Manage a high volume of fuel-related invoices and emails.
•Ensure timely resolution of invoice discrepancies and inclusion of significant-dollar items for month-end closing.
•Operate within a multi-company and multi-currency environment (CAD, USD, Euro, GBP).
•Reconcile vendor statements, review purchase orders, verify tax and foreign exchange calculations.
•Support invoice payment processes to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
•Collaborate on ad-hoc financial analysis, reporting, and cross-team projects.
•Document and refine key accounting processes.
•Uphold compliance with internal control frameworks and C-SOX requirements.
Qualifications
Must-Have Requirements:
•Post-secondary education and/or certification in Accounting or Finance.
•2–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
•Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
•Strong organizational and time management skills.
•High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
•Adaptability in a high-volume, fast-changing environment.
•Strong sense of confidentiality and professionalism.
Nice-to-Haves:
•Experience with JD Edwards ERP system.
•Familiarity with Hyperion or similar financial reporting tools.
