• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Key Duties

The Front Office Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting day-to-day operations in the General Surgery department. Responsibilities include managing patient registration, scheduling appointments, and handling phone inquiries while ensuring efficient patient flow. The role requires assisting with patient referrals and coordinating medical records requests according to clinic policies. Key functions include:

• Scheduling patient appointments and verifying pre-certifications and authorizations when needed

• Collecting and maintaining accurate patient demographic and insurance information

• Processing and distributing medical records following departmental and Orlando Health guidelines

• Utilizing office technology and equipment efficiently, including phone systems

• Ensuring compliance with clinic policies, standards, and value statements

• Providing professional and courteous interactions with patients, families, and staff

• Supporting billing, quality assurance, and administrative processes as required

Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent

• Experience: Minimum of six months in clerical, administrative, or customer service roles

• Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities; proficiency with office equipment and scheduling systems

• Other: Ability to travel between Wesley Chapel and Zephyrhills locations as needed, maintain punctual attendance, and follow compliance and patient privacy standards
