Key Duties

Florida Virtual School is seeking a dedicated instructor for the Florida Scholars Academy (FSA) to provide a structured and engaging learning environment for students in residential programs under the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice. The successful candidate will:

• Develop and deliver instructional plans tailored to students’ academic needs, including remediation and acceleration programs.

• Supervise students and maintain classroom order, ensuring a safe and supportive learning atmosphere.

• Assess student progress, grade assignments, and communicate feedback effectively.

• Collaborate with colleagues, supervisors, and educational stakeholders to enhance instructional practices.

• Utilize technology to support instruction, both in blended learning models and face-to-face settings.

• Participate in professional development activities and contribute to team-based initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

• Valid Florida Professional Teaching Certificate in the assigned content area, or enrollment in a state-approved EPI or MAT program with corresponding eligibility or temporary certification.

• Preferred certifications include ESE, Gifted, ESOL, or Reading endorsements.

• Experience teaching or completing an FLVS instructional internship program.

• Strong classroom management skills, excellent communication, and proficiency with digital tools.

• Ability to travel daily to assigned residential facilities and adapt to various teaching environments.
