Key Duties

As a Finance Associate at Sysco, you will play a critical role in supporting the operating company’s daily financial operations. This position focuses on ensuring accuracy and compliance in transactional and administrative finance tasks. Core responsibilities include:

  • Managing deposits for cash and manual payments received by the OpCo.

  • Scanning and organizing supporting documentation for checks, remittances, invoices, and receiving packets.

  • Handling petty cash and replenishments while maintaining accurate records.

  • Processing will-call transactions, including payments from customers and employee purchases.

  • Collaborating with quality control teams to resolve exceptions and facilitate supplier credit claims.

  • Ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements, such as USDA and food safety documentation.

  • Communicating effectively with Sysco Business Services (SBS) to resolve issues and document exceptions.


Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma required.

  • Experience: At least 2 years in finance or administrative roles with transactional processing; experience with deposits is preferred.

  • Skills:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office applications.

    • Strong problem-solving, verbal, and written communication abilities.

    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and communicate effectively with colleagues and customers.

    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and operate a computer and telephone.

    • Occasionally lift or move items up to 20 pounds.
