About the Role

IBM is seeking a Field CTO to provide executive-level engagement, technical leadership, and strategic support for customers adopting IBM’s cloud and HashiCorp solutions. This high-impact role serves as a trusted advisor for C-level executives and decision-makers, guiding enterprises on their cloud, automation, and security journeys.

As the Field CTO, you will represent IBM and HashiCorp’s vision to senior stakeholders, influence adoption strategies, and provide feedback to shape future product directions. You will collaborate closely with sales, marketing, R&D, and customer success teams while acting as a public thought leader through events, speaking engagements, and advisory boards.

This role requires both technical depth in DevOps and infrastructure automation, and the ability to engage confidently with business leaders to drive enterprise success.

Key Duties

• Serve as a trusted advisor to enterprise customers, bridging business needs with IBM and HashiCorp solutions.

• Partner with regional sales teams to build pipelines, accelerate opportunities, and strengthen executive relationships.

• Deliver executive briefings, advisory boards, and thought leadership sessions (round tables, webinars, industry events).

• Aggregate and communicate customer feedback to internal stakeholders to improve product messaging, pricing, and roadmap direction.

• Guide adoption and expansion of HashiCorp’s automation and security offerings across multi-cloud and hybrid environments.

• Mentor internal teams, contribute to technical enablement materials, and support knowledge sharing across IBM’s field organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent industry experience (Master’s preferred).

• Proven background in executive engagement and enterprise-level relationship management.

• Technical expertise in cloud automation, DevOps, infrastructure automation, and security.

• Understanding of distributed computing architectures and large-scale enterprise deployments.

• Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience speaking to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Ability to act as an industry thought leader, influencing customers and partners in both private and public forums.

• Familiarity with IBM and HashiCorp products (preferred).

• Fluent in English.
