• Compensation: $800/day for clinic work, $150/day for weekday on-call, $300/weekend on-call

• Assignments: 1 month at a time, minimum 3–4 per year, multiple scheduling options available

Key Duties

Ascend Medical Staffing is seeking experienced Family Nurse Practitioners to provide primary care, emergency, and urgent care services in remote Arctic Circle villages. Providers will:

• Deliver acute, chronic, and emergent care within small, resource-limited communities.

• Work collaboratively with Community Health Aides (CHA/Ps) following the Alaska Community Health Aide Manual (CHAM).

• Provide care across outpatient, emergency, and limited inpatient settings at 17-bed facilities serving Alaskan Natives.

• Support a broad range of clinical services including women’s health, behavioral health, social work, senior care, injury prevention, wellness programs, and emergency services.

• Adapt care delivery creatively to address challenges of isolation, extreme weather, and limited resources.

• Document patient care in Cerner EMR and maintain clinical standards aligned with tribal and federal guidelines.

Requirements

• Active RN and NP license in any state; Alaska license preferred but not required to start.

• Unrestricted DEA registration.

• Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in primary care, urgent care, or emergency settings.

• Comfortable practicing independently in under-resourced, remote environments.

• Strong problem-solving, adaptability, and resilience in challenging conditions.

• Cultural sensitivity and commitment to serving Tribal, rural, or underserved populations.

• Clean licensing and legal history; eligible for fast credentialing.

Pay & Benefits
