Key Duties

Leidos is hiring an Electronics Engineer to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Terminal Engineering Center in Anchorage, Alaska. This role is part of the National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC IV), which contributes to the modernization of critical FAA infrastructure.

In this position, you will:

  • Provide technical support for FAA modernization projects, including those related to the Legacy Infrastructure Future Technologies (LIFT) program.

  • Develop and deliver engineering design packages covering communications systems, radar automation, control and monitoring equipment, and weather communication systems.

  • Prepare and manage project transition, testing, and training plans, coordinating with multiple stakeholders.

  • Contribute to project scope agreements, schedules, and feasibility assessments.

  • Conduct engineering risk assessments and propose mitigation strategies to ensure safety and efficiency.

This is a hands-on engineering role requiring onsite work in Anchorage, with opportunities to influence large-scale modernization projects across the FAA’s Western Service Area.


Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering with 8+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 6+ years. Equivalent experience may be considered in place of a degree.

  • Demonstrated background in systems engineering and integration of electronics systems.

  • At least 8 years of professional electronics engineering experience.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security Clearance (U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents who meet residency requirements are eligible).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with FAA operations and the National Airspace System (NAS).

  • Experience with federal infrastructure or aviation-related engineering projects.
