  • Pay: $50 – $65 per hour (non-exempt, eligible for overtime and bonuses)

Key Duties

As a Part-Time Controller, you will serve as a trusted financial advisor for nonprofit organizations. This role combines technical accounting expertise with mission-driven service, helping nonprofits strengthen their financial operations. Responsibilities include:

  • Acting as an outsourced Controller/CFO for multiple nonprofit clients.

  • Preparing and presenting financial reports to boards, executives, and management teams.

  • Overseeing transactional processes such as payables, receivables, payroll, and reconciliations.

  • Leading month-end close activities, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

  • Supporting audits, grant reporting, allocations, and compliance requirements.

  • Recommending improvements to accounting systems, controls, and workflows.

  • Providing training and guidance to client staff on accounting best practices.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.

  • Minimum 5–7 years of professional accounting experience.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience with accounting software (QuickBooks preferred).

  • Ability to manage multiple clients and work independently in a hybrid/remote environment.

  • Prior experience with nonprofit organizations, public accounting, or consulting a plus.

  • CPA certification and bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred but not required.

  • Excellent communication skills, professionalism, and client service focus.
