The Contract Support Specialist II plays a vital role within FDOT District Five Construction by overseeing the processing, execution, and management of construction-related agreements and supporting documentation. Core responsibilities include:

Reviewing and processing contract documents, supplemental agreements, and payment packages
-
Coordinating with the District Legal Department and District Construction Engineer to ensure compliance
-
Maintaining and updating construction contract databases, including encumbrance tracking and contract change systems
-
Preparing and reviewing reports to resolve discrepancies in pay items and contract changes
-
Managing consultant contracts, including budget oversight, contract amendments, and vendor invoice approval
-
Supporting Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) operations, ensuring compliance with FDOT standards and procedures
-
Supervising the use of the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) to ensure accurate and timely filing of records

Assisting with resolution of payment issues by collaborating with district and central offices
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (two years of related experience may substitute)

Ability to obtain Final Estimates Level I and II certifications within six months of hire
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Understanding of FDOT contract processes and road/bridge construction terminology
-
Strong computer proficiency, including databases, spreadsheets, and web-based applications
-
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to work independently, supervise staff, and coordinate complex projects

Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
