The Glennallen Trial Court is part of the Alaska Court System (ACS), dedicated to providing fair, efficient, and accessible justice across the state. Serving as a cornerstone of Alaska’s judicial process, the Glennallen court manages a variety of cases, from criminal and civil matters to probate and children’s cases. Key DutiesAs the Clerk of Court, you will oversee clerical operations in the Glennallen court and provide support to neighboring courts as needed. Your responsibilities include managing case flow, maintaining accurate records, coordinating jury duties, handling warrants, and overseeing the collection and distribution of fines, restitution, and other funds. You will ensure adherence to ACS rules and Third District policies, review relevant statutes and procedures, and coordinate with other courts to maintain seamless operations. Additional tasks include managing court technology, overseeing facilities and materials, and serving as a liaison between the court, the public, attorneys, and other government agencies.
RequirementsCandidates must possess a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of clerical, office, or retail experience, or alternatively, 36 semester credit hours from an accredited college. Experience in legal or court-related work is preferred and may qualify for advanced step placement. Successful applicants must demonstrate strong organizational, supervisory, and technical skills, including proficiency with office software and court management systems.
Applicants will undergo a background check prior to employment and must provide documentation supporting minimum qualifications. A professional letter of interest addressing qualifications and intent to work with the Alaska Court System is required.
