The Role & Responsibilities

As a Civil Engineer in the consultancy office, you will be entrusted with designing, supervising, and managing civil engineering projects across multiple domains. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and leadership skills to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Design and Planning: Prepare, review, and finalize engineering designs, technical drawings, and structural calculations, ensuring alignment with UAE municipal regulations and international engineering codes.

  • Site Supervision and Coordination: Regularly visit project sites to monitor construction progress, ensure quality control, and coordinate with contractors, architects, and other stakeholders.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Liaise with local authorities to ensure that all designs and project documents are in compliance with Abu Dhabi Municipality and other regulatory requirements.

  • Material Selection and Testing: Evaluate and approve construction materials, ensuring they meet technical specifications and sustainability standards.

  • Project Documentation: Maintain accurate records, prepare progress reports, and ensure timely submission of project documentation for approvals and audits.

  • Client Communication: Engage directly with clients to understand requirements, present design proposals, and provide technical advice to ensure client satisfaction.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess both academic excellence and practical knowledge of the construction and engineering sector.

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s degree preferred). A valid professional engineering license (such as UAE Society of Engineers membership or equivalent) is an advantage.

  • Experience: Minimum 3–7 years of professional experience in engineering consultancy, design, or construction management, preferably in the UAE or Gulf region.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, Revit, and MS Project. Strong knowledge of UAE building codes and international standards (British, American, Eurocodes).

  • Analytical Ability: Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills with the ability to design innovative yet practical engineering solutions.

  • Language Skills: Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage for dealing with local clients and authorities.

  • Other Requirements: Valid UAE driving license preferred, as site visits across Al Ain and Abu Dhabi may be required.
