Key Duties

Spring Branch ISD is seeking a dedicated Child Care Specialist – Lead to maintain a child-centered, age-appropriate learning environment at its Child Development Laboratory. The Lead Specialist will collaborate with the Childcare Development Laboratory Manager, Assistant Manager, and Director of the School for Early Learning to provide a nurturing and educational setting for children.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing and implementing daily lessons aligned with developmentally appropriate practices.
• Leading classroom and playground activities while ensuring all safety and security standards are met.
• Supervising children’s activities and responding to individual needs in a positive and nurturing manner.
• Maintaining compliance with Texas Department of Regulatory and Protective Services Minimum Standards Guidelines.
• Performing classroom maintenance and supporting the administrative needs of the childcare center.
• Collaborating with parents, staff, and students to ensure a supportive learning environment.
• Assisting with additional duties assigned by the Childcare Manager or Assistant Manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Additional certifications as required by Texas Department of Regulatory and Protective Services.
• Experience teaching in a licensed early childhood childcare center.
• Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development standards.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain emotional control under stress and handle frequent interruptions.
• Physical capability to perform classroom tasks including sitting, stooping, bending, and moving materials.
