Job description

A cashier plays a vital role in ensuring efficient and accurate financial transactions within a retail or service-oriented environment. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to handle cash, credit, and debit transactions promptly and accurately.

Responsibilities:
• Process Sales Transactions: Accurately scan items, process payments (cash, credit/debit cards, gift cards), and provide customers with receipts.
• Maintain Cash Register: Operate electronic cash registers or point-of-sale (POS) systems, ensuring they are functioning correctly and accurately recording transactions.
• Handle Cash: Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
• Provide Customer Service: Greet customers, answer questions about products or services, and resolve any customer complaints or issues in a polite and professional manner.
• Maintain Cleanliness: Keep checkout areas clean and organized, including removing debris and arranging merchandise neatly.
• Promote Sales: Suggest upsells or promotions to customers to increase sales and enhance their shopping experience.
