Job description• This job advert is specifically for people who can work week days between 6.30am and 6.30pm as well as one in every 6 weekends, please only apply if you have full availability to work the days mentioned*
The League of Friends , based in Royal Berkshire Hospital are looking for a cafe assistant to help out in their busy coffee shop. Minimum 10 hours per week
Responsibilities:
– Greet and welcome customers in a friendly and professional manner
– Take customer orders accurately and efficiently
– Prepare and serve a variety of food and beverages, including coffee, tea, sandwiches, and pastries
– Operate cash register and handle customer transactions
– Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafe, including dining area, kitchen, and restrooms
– Follow food safety guidelines and ensure proper handling and storage of food items
– Assist with inventory management, including restocking supplies and monitoring stock levels
– Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving any issues or complaints
Requirements:
– Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and calculating change
– Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks and ensure efficient service
– Previous experience in food preparation or customer service is preferred but not required
– Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices is a plus
– Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
– Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members
