International Leadership of Texas is seeking a dedicated Behavior Specialist to support students with challenging behaviors. This role focuses on providing consultation, training, and modeling to teachers, staff, and parents to promote positive student outcomes.
Core responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with educators to develop and implement Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs) and support classroom management strategies.
- Conducting functional behavioral assessments (FBA) and monitoring the effectiveness of interventions.
- Participating in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings to ensure Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals are met.
- Teaching socially appropriate behaviors to students in school, home, and community settings.
- Managing student behavior and intervening in crisis situations, including the use of physical restraints when necessary.
- Identifying staff development needs, providing behavior management training, and coaching campus personnel.
- Offering parent training and consulting with district and external resources regarding student needs.
- Maintaining accurate records, reports, and compliance with federal, state, and district regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; Master’s preferred.
- RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) or BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) preferred.
- Minimum of two years’ experience as a special education teacher.
- Knowledge of behavior intervention techniques, IEP and ARD processes, and special needs education.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift up to 45 lbs., physically assist students, and remain calm under stress.
- Must be able to work in various environments, including classrooms, outdoors, and noisy settings.
