Key Duties

The Assistant Principal (AP) serves as a key leader supporting the Principal, teachers, staff, students, and the school community. This role focuses on fostering a positive school culture, providing instructional leadership, and ensuring efficient operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing student data to determine academic needs and guide interventions.

  • Designing and implementing the school master schedule to meet student and program requirements.

  • Ensuring compliance with ESE, ESOL, state mandates, and teacher certification requirements.

  • Overseeing gradebook compliance, report cards, progress reports, and promotion standards.

  • Supervising the Guidance and CRT departments to ensure student records, credits, and enrollment processes are accurate.

  • Monitoring classroom instruction, providing coaching, and supporting professional development for teachers.

  • Collaborating with staff, parents, and special education personnel to support student academic, social, and emotional growth.

  • Leading initiatives to integrate innovative instructional technologies and practices school-wide.

  • Participating in school improvement planning and attending professional education conferences.


Requirements

  • Master’s degree in education or a related field from an accredited university.

  • Valid State of Florida teacher certification.

  • Experience in instructional leadership or administrative support preferred but not required.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and data analysis skills.

  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and maintain a positive, approachable presence with staff, students, and parents.

  • Commitment to fostering a collaborative and inclusive school environment.
